Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Golf Owner to be...

    Hi all,

Not a VW owner yet - shopping for a new Golf GTi and jumping in and joining the forum. Live in Belair and looking for something to get me up the hill ... quicker. Looking forward to joining in.

    Cheers, Tom

    Welcome to the forum.

I don't think there's a bad car in the Mk7 GTI range... just depends whether you feel the need for the extras in the PP

Which ever option you go with it will be an excellent car to drive up and down the hill.

Give the whole range a test drive. Also include auto and manual, diesel and the R if available. This may give you some more options. I don't know if the GTD is available anymore but was good for power economy and a bit sportier than the standard diesel offerings.
