Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • greetings from a UK petrol head

    Greetings
I'm new to here but not new to VW.
Well i've bought them built them modded them and drag raced them.
My Drag car was a 1969 GP mk1 Beach buggy with a modified 1835cc tuned to 110bhp at the wheels 15.03 standing 1/4 mile. and road legal too.
    owned 7 old school beetles
    Mk 1,3,6 Polos
    Mk 1,2,3,4,5, golfs 7 in total including 8v 16v GTI, VR6 and V6 4motion
    Jetta Mk 2
    Bora V5
Passat mk 2,3 1.8t heavily modded and tuned.
Passat CC gt tdi on HR coils
2011 Phaeton 3.0tdi lovely car this but lost a shed load of money in when i sold it. And now
2011 Amarok trendline with loads of bits added.
I know im mad to sell a 22k miles mint Phaeton for an Amarok but thats how i roll.
On the modded van side ive owned and restored modded and converted a Splitty 1966 ex swiss army radio bus, 1972 bay window Devon camper, 80s T25 aircooled camper and built a heavily modified T4 camper with a fantastic paint job.
I run a VW club in the UK namely the Driftwood VW club and can be found most summer weekends at shows with a bottle of jack and a story to tell.
well that's me and its nice to meet you.
Projects on the go are mostly electrical mods to my newly purchased Amarok. This weekend is the reversing camera upgrade to my RNS315. any wiring info on the 1T0 980 551 camera would be a great help.
    Cheers
