New Polo GTI

Hi all,

I'm about to trade my 2005 RenaultSport Megane for a 2014 Polo GTI. Have done 215k kms in the Megane and loved every minute of it, but the aircon's dead, 1 power window motor just failed, and the clutch feels like it's about to go so i decided it was time to replace it.

My wife has a MY13.5 Golf GTI so my car will feel right at home. Her previous car was a 2006 Golf GTI (manual) and we did 200k kms in that before trading it. So you could say we love our VWs.

Test drove a Polo GTI on the weekend and loved it. Torque steer was a bit much but I can live with that. Would have loved a manual but I can't wait for it to become available so I signed on the dotted line on Saturday. Should have the car Wednesday this week.

One thing I'd like to know is how do I tell if the car is MY14 or MY14.5?

Welcome! This isnt really vw related but what was the megane like? I am interested in a 2005 Megane RS Sport but dont really know a lot about them.

I am sure you will be pleased with the Polo

Welcome to the Forum! I used to have the 6R GTI, great little car, you won't be disappointed.

It was a fantastic car. Wanted to get straight back in and drive it more every time I got out. Quality was not the best - engine mounts are weak, rattles - but a pretty good car.

Meanwhile I'm eagerly awaiting my new car. Went to the dealer yesterday to check out the exact one I'm getting. It's flawless on the surface thankfully. Have bought new cars in the past and discovered scratches after taking it home.
