Hey all.
My name is Jack and I own an R32 MKIV. It's 67/200 and in Reflex Silver. Bought it last year from a German guy in Perth. It was his garage queen, very well maintained and only driven on the weekends. His second car was a Porsche.
I used to own a Proton Satria GTI Gen 2 which served me well, though lacked in a variety of different ways. After the motor blew in that car I jumped online and searched for my next car. I never had an interest in Volkswagens, knowing very little about them. Browsing YouTube looking at car videos I came across this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaZj5KV_yFI and my decision was made for me. I immediately looked on Carsales and to my surprise there was an R32 MKIV in Reflex Silver advertised just around the corner from my house. I made the phone call, organised the money, and bought the car.
When I bought it the car was at 88k. It is now at 105k.
Here are some pictures the day after picking it up, and after a good wash.

And after installing coilovers and dropping it to a more aesthetically pleasing ride height:

Oil change and service:

Which lead to the discovery of these attached to my magnetic sump plug..

Research lead me to another forum post on VWVortex where another user had exactly the same problem. Seems the intermediate timing gear in these cars is weak and prone to snapping teeth, as shown here:

Car is booked in to be repaired soon and will be back on the road. It saddens me to have crippled though.
Current Mod List:
One more picture for kicks:

Future plans are to get the front bumper shaved and filled so I can put the plate in its proper position. Forced induction hopefully as well as a BBK and wheels when I can ever decide on a set.
