Hi all,

I'm new to the forum after recently purchasing an Aussie delivered Mk2 gti for my son's first car (he's 16).

I've owned heaps of Euro cars - mostly Alfas and this is our second golf - absolutely love the mk2 gti (always have).

Saved the car from a farm paddock in Girvan - so far I've done the waterpump and timing belt and have the car running ok.

Needs all new brakes and a few electrical problems fixed but we're in no hurry.

We'll post some pics and pick some minds over the time so thanks for your help in advance

Welcome; always good to see some older generation golfs in the area. We are severely outnumbered.

Agreed - cant remember the last time I saw a mk2 in newie!
