Hi all,
I stumbled across this forum whilst researching the new Octavia III RS which I am anxiously waiting to order.
My first 2 cars were VWs ... a 1969 Fastback and a 78 Passat 2 door hatch back. After owning many different makes and models since (including the occasional returns to VW), I have always had a soft spot for the marque.
Being a motoring enthusiast, I have really enjoyed reading about how fantastic the Golf GTIs are/ have been over the past few generations. The problem is that although I would have loved to bought a GTI, my occupation as a freelance Cinematographer/ TV cameraman requires me to have a fairly large wagon, van or people mover to carry lots of camera and lighting gear. So although GTI is unfortunately still impractical for my needs , the new 2014 Octavia RS wagon is the closest car that fits my needs for business and pleasure and can't wait to get my hands on one.
In the meantime, I'm enjoying reading and learning from the very interesting and
informative posts on this forum.
Cheers,
Mark
