Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    WA New potential Amarok owner just signing up

    Hi Guys,

    Been avidly reading up on all available Amarok info lately and have a few questions hopefully so more knowledgeable owners can help me out with.

    Been tossing up getting the Navara 550 of the MY14 Highline.
    Just sold my 5 year old Navara STX yesterday which served me very well.

    However think the Amarok is still the way to go even if slightly more $$$
    So need to make some decisions soon as car-less now!!

    Welcome to the forum! You won't regret buying an Amarok. I certainly don't, enjoying mine every time I drive it.

      Hi Transporter.

      You may be able to help with a couple of questions I have?

      I'm about to place an order for new highline with 18" Durban upgrade but also looking at getting a set of off-road tyres and rims included pre delivery.

      My question is does anyone know the exact height of their Amarok with the sports bar fitted?
      Amarok brochure specs state the height is 1834mm but a quick measure in the VW yard puts it more like 100mm higher than that around 1930mm to top of sports bar.
      My garage is 1950mm to the top so I might be screwed going for a bigger diameter tyre package if that's the case than the factory fitted diameter of 751mm for the 17" and 763mm for the 18" Durban upgrade.

      Also was trying to find a nudge bar that looks half decent and is compatible with the front parking sensors that come standard with the MY14 Highline??
      My understanding their isn't one.
      Was either going to fit some IPF spotties or a light bar depending on how it'll look on a suitable nudge bar.

      Any feedback would be most helpful..
