Not a newbie as such, but thought I'd reintroduce as my hiatus from here has ended.

As some will know with a child on the way at the time I made the decision to grab a family orientated SUV last year and end my relationship with my GTI aka Red Baron.

Anyway I got bored.

So I bought a 2014 GTI this morning. Hope to catch up with the local cruisers soonishly.

(Oh yeah, had a baby girl who has managed to capture my heart even more than the GTIs )

So I'm guessing the Polo got traded on the GTI and now the wife has the Mazda???

When do you pick up your new wheels? We have a coffe night on Wednesday this week, day of the VW on the 16th March and cruise at the start of next month.

Spot on. The Polo was a sweet little car, but the pram base takes up the entire boot so buying a GTI seemed a logical step. Well, at least to me.

New wheels have an ETA of 2-3 weeks, so I might even be able to get out for the next cruise. I'll see how I'm travelling for Wednesday night, still adjusting to half sleep! Look forward to seeing the Tig updates.

What's the spec on the new wheels? Any mods planned?

Hopefully you get the new GTI and a leave pass to get out on our next cruise.

Welcome back Dutch - that was fast mate! Congrats on both the new and soon-to-be-new arrivals!

Where'd you get the GTI from? Manual this time? And how long do you think it'll be before you get the stage 2+ itch again?

Well I said I'd be back one day..

The new wheels are a bog standard GTI in carbon steel, with DSG again (so remind me if I whinge in 3 years time). Sourced from Solitaire, they looked after me really well and were well below the other local options on pricing.

No mods planned this time around. I'm setting a filter on mod searches..
