Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD 9N Polo GTI Gold Coast

Hey, I recently picked up a black 2007 Polo GTI with only 57,000kms on the clock. Even has heated leather seats! I'm stoked. Love it. So torquey compared to my other n/a car, so the downgrade in power doesn't seem so evident.

I'm not new to the VW family, with my parents previously owning a 2005 Touareg R5, and they now have a 2013 CC 2.0 TDI, both of which are fantastic cars.

The Polo is a little bit rough around the edges in terms of appearance, just needs a really good cut and polish with my soon-to-be-delivered Rupes polisher. Will come up a treat.

And yes, it's had the 60,000km major service - previous owner spent $2200 a few weeks before I bought it.

Welcome to the forum mate. Maybe it has tune on it, in which case it would be making 150kw ish.
