Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • new from QLD researching mk4 GTI's

    Hello All,

I am from QLD and am looking at buying a Mk4 GTI some time this year hopefully.

been trawling the forum to find out all I can to buy a good one and what should be done to it.

I just sold a 1jz powered mx83 cressida and my wife has an R33 GTS25t 4 door skyline.
My current ride is a 1998 WF Festiva 1.5 manual with 340k km on it, I give far to hard of a time and think the GTI will fit the bill as a sporty comfortable daily which can handle the punishment I give the poor ol Festiva

Look forward to seeing what all the fuss is about in the Dubverse haha

    Cheers
    Brenden

    Welcome to the forums Brenden.
We have a few Mk4's in our social group so feel free to come to some of our events and see what people have to say about them.

      Thanks mate,

so many people say that VWs or golfs in particular are unreliable expensive pieces of junk.
but then many who are actually owners don't have any dramas at all, no more than other companies vehicles.

you just need to remember that buying ex Europe is FAAAAAR cheaper than ex Australia
