Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Greetings!

Hi all! I'm a Brissie boy who's been browsing these forums for a while now. I've found some pretty useful advice on here so I finally decided to sign up for an account.

I run a 2004 Golf MKV 2.0 FSI Comfortline (6spd Man), and I love it! Nothing fancy, everything is factory fitted. I've had it for a little over 12 months now, and it is a great little car. In fact, I'm loving it so much I am thinking of upgrading, which I would love to get some advice on. I assume there is a more appropriate place for any questions, however. So, yeah- that's me!

Now: MKVII Golf 1.4 90TSI '14, Tungsten Silver

-May the mass times acceleration be with you!

Thanks! To be honest, not sure at this stage. Unfortunately the range of cars I can choose from/test is limited right now (lots of turbo petrols in the VW lineup ), as I get my opens in July. So I am probably looking to get something end of July/early August, if I can. That being said, I really am looking for opinions. Some ideas I've had are a Golf VI GTI, or a VII Comortline, or even a 6R Polo GTI (I'd love to hear experiences/opinions!). But something around the 20-25k bracket hopefully. I will post more detail in a new thread somewhere if this is not the appropriate place? Especially seeing as I am being fairly vague at the moment
