Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hi

Hi there, I am totally new to 4x4's and have just purchased a new MYPC14 Auto 2.5 turbo diesel Mitsubishi Challenger. I have never owned anything like this and feeling a lot of information overload and contradictions at all the do's and don'ts of how to drive and maintain to achieve maximum longevity.

I purchased in the city, and live in the country and the sales person has given me all the wrong info including saying there is no run in period!
I have already racked up approx. 1350kms and most of that has been on cruise control on the highway at a constant speed of 100kms only slowing in the few small towns along the way of a 5 hour journey. Worried now that I have done major damage to the life of my new 4x4.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers

I think you're lost. This is a Volkswagen forum.

Suggest you try again on a Mitsubishi forum.

ohh Hi Peter, thanks for that. Yep totally lost but was more going by the info on turbo diesels and how to treat them not the make of vehicle, by searching google. Not that I understand any of it but kind of guessed that all diesels would/should be treated and work the same way.

I will keep searching and hopefully someone can answer a few questions for me.
Thanks again anyway for the reply
      have a great day
