Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Newb with a Tiggy

    Hi all

Well here I am. Having protested that I will never buy an SUV just a few short years ago, I am about to pick up my MY11 Tiggy in about 2 hours.

Formerly very much into the Nissan S13/14/15 platform, I have spent far too much time modifying cars...I will see if I can control myself with the Tig.

Looking forward to learning and hopefully contributing to the forums.

    Cheers

    Mat

    Welcome to the forum Mat.

I'm guessing this wasn't #1 choice on the list but the head of the house put their foot down???

No problems I found myself in a similar position a couple of years ago too and now a have a fully modified Tig

...well almost there's still a couple of mods still on the list

Anyway let us know what specs your new Tig has and I'm sure we can help you add a couple of personal touches

Agreed however it was my choice as a perfect jack of all trades vehicle.

Thanks for the warm welcome chaps. Funnily enough, it was my choice to go down the SUV route...I think I may have finally grown up, the idea of a loud exhaust and being obnoxious doesn't seem to interest me anymore

At this stage, I would like to upgrade the stock stereo. It has an RCD310 installed and to be honest, I can't see it lasting long. I see there are a few group buys going on for headunits that I might jump onto, however I need to have something which works well with Android.

Time to do some more reading....
