Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Newbie with old car

    Hi All
    I have joined the forum on behalf of my daughter who refuses to let go of her 1976 Passat wagon.
    It aint pretty but it sure is reliable.
    Shes spent $650 on repairs in the 8 years since she got it. Damn cheap motoring.
    Now she wants to upgrade it so here I am.
    Hope there are some others on here who I could ask a few questions about such an old car.

    Welcome! The early passats are great cars. Look in the Passat B1, B2 and B3 section - theres sure to be some info for you there.

      Where about are you located?

      There's plenty you can do to these cars.

      As well as the B1 section there's also vwdasher.com.

      Fire me any questions you might have, I've learned quite a bit about these B1s over the last couple of years.
