Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hey, required intro post.

    I got this MK1 from my friend/housemate about 3 months ago who got the car and put a lot of effort into what it is today. I've falling in love with driving it and couldn't imagine ever getting rid of it!


    1980 Mk1 Golf
    Mk2 GTI 1.8L 16v Motor and close ration gearbox
    Vmaxx Coil Overs
    China spec fix backed seats on really low rails, every drive gives me a spinal adjustment.
    Nardi Suede steering wheel, china copy.
    Decent stereo all around.
    Full respray in Mitterschwarz metallic
    No arial
    All chrome has been blacked out
    Smoked tail lights and indicators
    VW single headlight grill
    Few gauges, volts vacuum etc
    BBS copy wheels
    Full exhaust and extractors
    Brand new vw front lip

            Looking to sell or trade this car
            Unfortunately I plan on doing a bit of country driving over the summer and this isn't the car to do it in.
            I cant post in the classified section yet so anyone interested pm me!
