My names Gavin and I am from Sydney! Recently bought a 98 mk3 golf, loving it so far, so good to be back in manual!
During my first long drive it starts spewing out coolant and I discover a cracked front flange, joy.. Further investigation reveals a worn out oil breather hose. Easy fixes but so close to Christmas it was a pain finding the parts. Discovered a great shop in waitara called tooley's imports. Mananged to get the oil breather hoses for $80 (vw was asking $180). Unfortunately tooley's is closed for Christmas but Richard who owns the shop went in and grabbed the parts for me and I picked them up from his house (legend!!).
Highly recommend tooley's if you live in the area, it's opposite McDonald's.
Hopefully I don't find anything else or this car will have been a great deal.
