Le mk4 and I.

Hey guys, I'm from the Sunshine Coast in QLD, I just acquired a 99 Golf mk4, it has the 1.8lt non turbo (AGN as far as I know). I'm a little confused as to whether it is a gti model or not. It is fairly bog stock other than some wheels and a little lowering. Plans are to maximise handling and chassis strength first and then move onto engine mods or possibly a swap. Any info on what model she actually is would be much appreciated.

Hey mate welcome to the forum. Don't think it's a gti but the non-turbo 1.8 is a pretty rAre engine. Not sure how you go slapping a turbo on it? Don't know too much about the agn, an agu(1.8t) should slip right in though

Cheers mate, I didn't think it was a gti. I thought about doing the usual 1.8t swap, but was wondering if there has ever been any N/A builds with these engines? Like quad throttle set ups or anything?

Also if anyone is from the Sunshine Coast area, if you know a good mechanic that knows his way around a volks I'd be ecstatic if you could let me know.
