Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • TAS Not so new - Mk4 Golf Gti Owner

Hi guys! Long timer lurker first time poster - have gathered a lot of information off this forum and thought it was time I introduced myself.

I bought my 2001 Golf GTi from NSW in January this year with a measly 64,500km on the clock! Made the trek down to tassie and the slow transformation from bone stock into what I wanted it to be began.

    Performance:
    • Injen cold air intake
    • Forge turbo inlet pipe
    • Forge diverter valve
    • Tyrolsport UG-SMIC
    • 42DD turboback exhaust (3" DP - 2.5" cat-back w/ twin dual walled tips)
    • APR ECU Software
    • Tyrolsport Brake Caliper Stiffening Kit

    Exterior:
    • Plasti-dipped badges
    • Plasti-dipped stock (BBS Montreal) wheels (until I can afford some bbs ch's!)
    • 6% Lamin-x headlight tint
    • 6% Lamin-x taillight tint
    • Phillips Xtreamvision globes
    • Genuine 4-Motion front valence
    • Genuine 4-Motion rear valence
    • Dub-addiction Smoked side indicators
    • Stubby antenna

    Interior:
    • Genuine R32 gear shifter
    • 3M Di-Noc carbon fibre vinyl wrapped woodgrains
    • VW floor mats
    • Newsouth Performance Boost gauge
    • Interior LED lighting kit
    • Alpine cda-9886

Before you say it needs moar low - coilovers are next up on the list. Tired of monster truck status.

Keen to check out your exhaust setup someday...need to do something about mine. Also keep your eye out for my yellow mk1 - I have been driving that instead of the mk4 lately (mk4 needs clutch).

Haha finally he has posted up on here!!!

This car sounds pretty gnarly, but still lacks the sound of a 6 ay teen?

Will have to organise another drive soon, the VR feels like a drive (and a new oxygen sensor...)

Can be done no worries, I'm keen for a Hobart meet up because I'm sure there are a few more dubbers about!
