Have owned my MY12.5 Tiguan 118TSI White manual for over a year but have only just started looking on vwwatercooled.

My main reason is due to my engine going into limp mode on the M1 (F3) yesterday at 110 kmh.
Car has been perfect and a dream until yesterday.

Luckily VW Assisted drove my over 40 km back to Waitara VW (McCarrolls).
Have just received the call to say that it was due to coil no.2 failing and that has been replaced. And the car is now ready to pick up.

Is this the start of my problems or am I back to smooth sailing again????

Firstly hi and welcome.

Regarding coils it's not uncommon but you're probably a little unlucky only 12 months in.

Not a very common fault anymore, at least not so early. How many km has the car done? Do you have any performance tune in it or is it stock?

I travel mainly highway kms and have done 61000km.
Should this have been picked up on the 60km service?
