Began as a VW fan when I got a 2005 Jetta 103TDI as a company car. Loved it. Next was a 2009 Jetta 103TDI that I got as a family car and it is a magical little darling.
So when the other car gave up (1999 Camry - RIP) we went down to test drive the new Mexica-vlakian Jetta - while I do not like the boot hinges I cannot fault the car otherwise, beautiful back end and drives well - as well as the Tiguan.
Both handled well and suited the family nicely but the damn salesman showed me a new beast.
The new MkVII Golf 110TDI. Highline.
The b*stard.
Comfortable to sit in, easy to drive. Within minutes I was laughing and giggling, as were my kids, and by the 30 minute mark even the wife had a smile.
7 days now - 700 kilometres.
She is beautiful. As a family we are looking forward to the next few years with her.
