2007 Volkswagen Multivan - What is the procedure to activate the DPF REGENERATION ?

HAHAHAH ICE , you hit the nail on the head , we're from the same part of Australia , god you have to love Melbourne weather , where else can you get four seasons in one day?

Sorry to ask this question in the intro but I'm a newbie and don't have enough membership time/post to ask in any other section. Any help would be appreciated or a exist link to a post, for some reason the search engine on here doesn't allow me access to this feature. As I have just recently acquired the possession of my vehicle and it has 120K kms on the clock. Don't want those nasty expensive DPF replacement cost I have been alerted by my friends who have owned these type of vehicles costs of $3500 to $5000 for a genuine DPF replacement and not to mention other associated cost repairs that may have caused the blockages to the DPF prematurely

Question - On my 2007 Volkswagen Multivan T5 Auto , what is the procedure to activate the Diesel Particulate Filter ( DPF
      ) regeneration ?

      Cheers

I see there are plenty of different scan tools available in the www world but would like to hear from people that have already purchased a scan tool and can speak from their experiences the advantages and disadvantages of their purchase.

Question-2 , What is a good scan tool just dedicated for this vehicle that is at a affordable price for a DIY Mechanic ?

2007 Volkswagen Multivan T5 Auto Factory workshop service manual ???

No problems ICE , just want to know how the system works on my Multivan cause I have heard of some very expensive repairs associated with DPF issues that may arise and people choose to ignore lights on their dash or service procedures to follow but not everyone wants to go to a Volkswagen Dealer.

Still can not find on the net what the and how the DPF works???? On my 2007 Volkswagen Multivan T5 Auto

Even searching YouTube search on " 2007 Volkswagen Multivan T5 " how to " Volkswagen activate the Diesel Particulate Filter ( DPF ) regeneration "

Have found this one but I don't want to go any where near a Volkswagen Dealer LOL , I don't have deep pockets or earn a six figure sum

Search for a 2007 Volkswagen Multivan T5 Auto Factory workshop service manual ??? to buy a copy. No workshop service manual exists from what the VW dealers have told me.

I thought OBD2 compliant vehicles from what ever manufacturer had to allow access to all vehicle information to the general public LOL seems not the case .

            cheers
