Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Ex Forester owner

    Hi all,

As per the title, I've just sold my Forester XT and have joined up to find a new car.

The Forester was an amazing weekend car but not the most friendly for daily duties due to it's heavy clutch and lack of fuel economy.

For the new car, I initially thought a golf gti would fit the criteria but I've recently fallen for Octavia RS wagons (manual). I'm yet to drive one so that's my first mission. Then research common faults etc.

Any hints on finding a gooden would be appreciated.

    See y'all around.
    cheers

    Welcome to the forum mate.
Octavias are amazing cars. Very good to do chip tuning on and verry quick. Good luck with your search

There's a few ex-forester owners amongst us. Which just goes to show our practical approach, and need for turbos

Best to check out the octavio section. Use the search button as that'll likely find detailed answers to many questions.

          What budget?

Maybe a nice VW Golf R would fit the bill...
