Just picked up a 2011 Golf GTI and looking to pay someone to update the firmware and maps on RNS510. Local dealer just looked puzzled when I asked about this. Willing to travel to Sydney area for help.

Why not do it your self Download the two files listed below and write the disks and spend an hour and a half and it will all be done.
The newest firmware most use is 4120 and the latest maps for the boat anchor are version 6

Thanks Hillbilly, I'll download them and see how I get on. Is this as simple as download, burn dvd then insert firmware disk then maps disk and I'm done 90 mins later? I don't have a VCDS so looking for something straight forward if I attempt this.Comment

Basically yes Just burn them slow on a good quality DVD-R takes about an hour for the firmware and up to 20 mins for the map.Originally posted by DoveyDuck View Post
