Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW New MK6 GTI Owner

    Hi everybody!

    Im Cory, From SW Sydney.
Recently purchased a MK6 GTI. Ive come from Hondas so this is a big step and a great improvement for me. I feel like a baller actually, haha!

Love the interior and overall shape of the MK6 over the MK5, unfortunately no mods as of yet. Scared that my mother will kill me if I do start fiddling with the car!

Looking forward to some meets and modification discussions!

        Welcome to VWW Cory!

I owned a line of Hondas before I moved over to VW as well. What were you driving previously?

Suggest you not run any planned mods by your mum before you buy. Speaking of which, check out the Tuning and Performance (inc ECU upgrades) section.

Cheers Adam! Ive built two EG Civics, both with Jap B16A's in them. Surely going to miss the sound of VTEC but wont be missing the horrible bumpy rides, droney exhausts, oil leaks and boring old interior!

Hehe, I know what you mean. I had an EK back in the day, before I got soft and moved to a CL9 Euro. K24A had a lot more torque.

You'll notice that there's very little expense or effort required to get big gains in power with the GTI... bit of a change from N/A Hondas.
