Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New guy from qld

    Hey all,

Names Ash, been silently looking at these forums for a while now but only just joined.

I'm currently living in and loving Brisbane. Currently own a BMW 125i coupe, but looking into getting into something with 4 doors, possibly polo gti.

Get a Fabia RS...not quite as plush as the Polo, but just as quick, maybe quicker, and up to 8K cheaper.

You could even spend the 8K on suspension, brakes and Stage II mods, and you'll have a car as fast as an R for half the cost.

Negative on the Fabia rs, looked at it for a while and test drove it. Didn't like the interior at all, perfectly functional and well put together but coming from a BMW it wasn't pleasing enough. Also felt the interior driver and passenger door handles were very flimsy. It is however great value for money.

Gti's can be had for 28-29k after the media circus
Seems like you need an audi if an interior is what you desire.
