Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC Newbie to VWW

    Hi guys,

I know many of you would recognize my username from OA. Michael (Mike) is the name.

Came in here to hopefully offload some parts I have off a BJX motor (Polo GTi) that was deconstructed.

Rules say 10 posts and 90 days membership prior to posting in classifieds so here's to my first.

    Mike

And to further extend my introduction, I'm also currently building an 06a with some decent hardware upgrades to the motor.

    Mike.

Ok so not a stranger to online forums. I am a little dismayed at posing a question in a thread, and it isn't there...

        Oh well - I guess it's a control thing.

                06a going in to my B6 A4.

Bits and pieces off the motor I wont be using - I should wait for the 90 days to finish so I can start a proper thread, but I do have some items of interest (head, hi-flow exh manifold, etc).

                Cheers.

                    Good Morning Everyone

I have just been to see my New Polo Blue GT and need some help.

We ordered it with the RCD 510 radio that it would give us the same things as our Golf Match, Bluetooth into the stereo, but instead we get a Bury Bluetooth thing on the dash

It turns out that the 'Phone button' only mutes the music,

I’m looking at getting a Bluetooth module for the car and from what I’ve see I should get the 9W7 module, first is this right and second will the phone show up on the instrument panel like a normal car?? If you can help that would be ace

                    Michael

So I need to wait a 'lil longer before actually posting in to the classifieds section; but I am enjoying my stay in here.

Just popped in for a quick update to my intro thread, and a link to my build over on OA:

                        Welcome to the forum Mike,

RCD 510 will work with 9w7 Bluetooth no problem as well as your MFD if its a mid-line not a basic one
Post a photo here or simply email us and we might be able to help with your question.
                        Regards
                        Martin

                          Thanks for that Martin,
I'm going to pick my car up today so will post some photos this afternoon, but as far as I know the MFD in my new car is the same as the Gti as it some step down from that, but I'll post some photos

                          Thanks
                          Michael

I went for a drive today, the handling is fantastic so level and the car hugs the road so well.

Im going to set my GoPro up and get some videos of the handling soon
