Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • SA newbie Golf 103TDi owner

Recently joined the Golf club with a 2009 Mk6 Golf 103TDi. Second diesel car driven (first was work Focus). I like the torque (hill! what hill?) and the relaxed driving experience. Came across VWWatercooled a number of times while researching Golf stuff so being an Aussie site, i had to join.

I ride a Honda VFR800, a sports/tourer motorcycle with a V4 engine. Not into sports bikes anymore. The VFR is an ideal blend where you can go hard if you want but also very nice to go slow(ish) on and tour. Sometime after getting the Golf, i realised that the Golf was the 'car' equivalent of the VFR. Both are well built, good performance and handling and just nice to ride/drive.

I know the VFR reasonably well by now, still getting to know the Golf and maybe some of you guys.

    cheers

      Hi tigger73

      Thanks for the welcome.

I went on a 'cruise' recently with some other guys & their cars. Mine the only Golf. The drive was sort of the equivalent of a sunday ride on the bike. No fast speeds but had fun in the corners. Was good.

Happy to go on a cruise. Was that a tongue-in-cheek smiley?
