  • 2009 VW Passat, Engine Fault Workshop, Steering Column Defective

I have an intermittent starting problem on the VW Passat.

    I get the following

    "Steering column lock defective" and
    "engine fault workshop"

I am joining this website for help.

The two faults may not be related, but the steering column lock one is common.

Will need a new steering column lock module, which means the steering column will need to be partially removed to replace it. Will also require online authorisation via a VW dealership before the car will start again.

Hi I'm having the same problem with my passat. What was your outcome? Was it an easy fix? The dealer seems to be giving me a bit of a run around
