Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • SA Volkswagen Passat 1.8t AEB MODS 1st Post

    Hi All,

My Name's Dan and I'm from RADELAIDE! AUS, Recently purchased a VW Passat 1.8t AEB Stock 99'

Here's some Pics Untitled don't be too judgmental of my choice of website.

Thought I'd check in to this forum, to see if any advice can be given on good places to go for certain jobs in Adelaide and where some good sites are to purchase parts, cheap as possible.

Also, If there are any relevant car clubs in Adelaide for Euro/German/vw car clubs that go on cruises etc. please inform!

At the moment the current Mods and prices I'm looking at doing are as follows:
    - APR chip $900 as I cannot find anywhere else in Adelaide that does Chips
    - $600 coilovers from the UK, adjustable, entry level ones.
    - M3 Boot lip $25
    - Badgeless front grill $42
    - foldout dvd gps head unit, $265
    - Vw Gear knob top $6- $15
    - Halo Head lights $160>
    - Turbo back exhaust $1500
    - Door trim $36
    - Possibly Leather the Seats *$1000 or something

Any advice on my decisions or goobs in Adelaide that have some connections feel free to share the love for these beautiful cars!

    Cheers,
    Dan

Adelaide's APR dealer is German Auto at Edwardstown (just off South Rd). There are several other tuners that are represented as well, although I'm not sure which tuners have something specifically for your 1.8T. Check out the Tuning and Performance (inc ECU upgrades) section.
