Hi guys, have come across your sight whilst googling for info on a Transporter EGR valve faults as mine has just been diagnosed with such. Hope to get some info regarding this problem.
Have been very happy with VW up until the last few days.
This is my 2nd T5, last being an 2007 2.5, current being 2010 2.0 bi turbo.
Just had a couple of lights coming on on the dash ( glow plug light and engine light) and after VW downloaded it, it was found to have a fault with exhaust temp sensor and EGR Valve. They did suggest that it was possible that exhaust sensor may be causing EGR fault.
Anyhow van is 3 months out of the warranty so after charging me $143 for the diagnosis I was quoted $413 to replace exhaust sensor and $3242 to replace EGR Valve, hence my googling.
I've been appalled that VW wanted to know nothing about it, no loyalty at all.
