Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW New Golf to the Golfers!

    Hey folks,

Finally an owner of a 2010 Vw Golf GTI DSG mk6...

Have had a lot of Japanese cars over the years, have raced them on trackdays in Ireland and the uk.

Was looking for something a little more refined as I'm moving into my 30's near the end of he year.

It's a united grey, 3 dr model with DSG which I find very user friendly.

It's sitting on standard suspension with 18" black detroits. So I'm thinking of changing them to the R spec wheels, either on 18's with h&r/SPM lowering springs or on 19's on standard suspension. Any thoughts from anybody who has done these set-ups?

Also looking at an intake, DP and ecu map.

Researching I've narrowed it down to a AS intake, Carbonio Intake, Gruppe M or Volant. An SPM Downpipe. APR/GIAC tune.
I think I would leave the cat back system standard maybe just change the exhaust tips to larger ones.

Would appreciate all the help or comments from people with previous experience!

    Thanks
