Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi, all...new to the European car thing, generally I'm not big on them, I am a Jap. car guy, have been racing mazdas for a long time and still have 2 MX5 race cars.
I was trawling the auction sites and found my Polo GTI, it had a pretty small hit in the back and is a stat, right off, off it went to Hume Smash Repairs, they worked their magic.
I have been after a good FWD. to have as a track toy so here it is....first time on the track is on saturday at Eastern Creek, I have just fitted some 15 inch wheels and semi slicks...lets see how it goes.

Surprisingly hard to find 15 inch wheels in 5 x 100, they are from Tempe Tyres, 15 x 6.5 +38 offset, fit pretty nicely, tyres are Kumho semis.
I'm selling off the original 17s' BTW, they are on eBay.

Great to see that 15's fits around those front breaks. Are they KU36 205/50r15?

Tyres are V70 205/50/15...excellent tyre, same size as I use on the MX5 and way cheaper than 17s.
