I was a little indifferent to the RNS510 - the only reason I got it was it was required as a prerequisite for the Dynaudio audio package that I really wanted .. The difference in price between it and the non-satnav version that played DVDs (was it the DNS?) at the time was not a lot..

I finally pulled my proverbial finger out and updated the maps to V6 and have since been using the nav function a lot more (and now it gives speed limit info too although be wary as some can be inaccurate).

        p.s. Welcome to the forum..

The 77TSI does not have a multifunction steering wheel and the MFD is very very basic. So IMHO its not worth getting an RNS unless its very cheap.

You can get a touchscreen and reverse camera for probably less than the RNS.

I went with a pricier Alpine unit and Alpine reverse camera kit in the end. The Alpine reverse camera works better in the dark than the official VW Camera in my Tiguan.

I am really technological-challenged and wouldnt be able to do that.....also wondering if fitting RNS510 yourself would break the warranty?

Got quoted from Lennock that the multifunction steering wheel gonna cost me $800 more......
