As a recent VW Polo GTI buyer, I thought I ought to join an online group. This way I will learn the quirks which other may have experienced and possibly offer my side of the story to others.
I have owner other VW cars in the past. My first being a 1960 beetle which I owner in 1968 and drove from Sydney to Melbourne without the clutch as the usual cable broke and I needed to travel without repairing it.
After several years I bought a 1974 VW Passat TS 4 speed manual. 2 door with factory sun roof, possibly ne of the best cars I have ever owned.
This was followed by an automatic 5 door Passat, a 4 door Automatic Passat, a 1978 Mk 1 VW GLS 5 door automatic.
In 1989 I imported a 1980 VW Rabbit from California, converted it to RHD and again after the five speed box failed, put in an auto box.
Long gap until May 2013 when I bought my Polo GTI, seven speed DSG.
Fastest and quickest car I have ever owned.
