  • GTI Mark 6

I am an ex Subaru WRX owner. The Rex was the best car I have owned, until I bought the GTI. I am close to retirement and hope to sail off into the sunset with the GTI .......and/or an old 911.

GTI is a Feb 2012 build ordered from Melville VW in Perth. Candy White 4 door manual with sunroof and adaptive Chassis control.

This is the third VW i have owned. First being a beat up '62 Beetle then a new '73 Superbug.

GTI has 18000km on the clock and I have oil filter changes done between service intervals, just as I had done with the WRX. Darwin is a harsh climate and so I don't trust the oils to last as per factory settings.

Absolutely no issues with this car. I joy to drive and own........

I too am an ex MY06 Subaru WRX owner from 2007 to 2012 and during that time modified it to my limits. The Rex was the best car I have owned and it was so quick, until I bought the GTI Polo.

I am getting closer to retirement too. This is the second VW i have owned. First was my Dads 72 Stationwagon 36 years ago.

My GTI has 68000km on the clock and I do my own oil and filter changes at 5000k service intervals, just as I had done with the WRX.

I do enjoy driving this Polo GTi ........ I flew to Sydney to buy it and drove it back same day to Brisbane. Had never driven one before. Very impressed. I actually like smaller nimble cars and this Pollo fits like a glove. My wife even likes it, except she claims it needs two more doors for her folks.

Cheers mate, keep enjoying our dubs............ Al
