  • ACT GIAC Canberra - Golf R

    Hi All,

I am new to this fourm, however not new to car scene or car fourms...
Being new the fourm i can't see the rest of the fourm so i have to start here i guess?

Now i have a 2011 MY 11 Golf R and i have found out through the people that last serviced it in parramatta at Exoticars that it does have the Stage I GIAC flash on it. However it feels like a standard R (which i test drove 1 week before that)

I have a funny feeling that it has been flashed back to stock before it was sent to the dealer... Now my point to this, without me having to drive to sydney to get check if the flash is stock or stage I is there someone in Canberra that has checker? A dealer? or someone that can help me out???

    That would be awesome.

    Thanks,
    Scotty

just find someone with a vcds cable and log the specified/actual boost. That will tell you if its standard or not

I don't know whether there is a GIAC dealer in Canberra who could specifically check your flash, but if you want to borrow a VCDS cable and try the boost method Tim suggested feel free to drop me a PM.

Last time I checked about 6 months ago Autotech in Hume is a GIAC dealer.

          Thanks for the info guys...

So my mate has a OBDII bluetooth connection that you use with a app called 'Torque'... Now i don't know how reliable or actuate this thing is... However its saying its running 29psi....... :| or 1.9bar... It spikes and then it really tappers off to about 18psi at the end of the rev range... If these things could hold that boost over the rev range they would be absolute machines! But yer i know size of the turbo etc etc...

So i guess my next step is, going APR!
