Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Non Aus Hi, I'm from Norway. I've been searching for an active VW Golf-forum for a while.

I'm 33 years old. I've got a VW Golf Mk3 1995 TDK Pink Floy with 210000 kms on it. I've owned it the last year, for 8000 kms or so. I got it for the very good safety aspect for such an old car, the looks, that it's diesel and the price. The electrics and the mechanical door locks have been acting up (like they should on these cars), and the car has otherwise been fine.

    Fixed so far:
    Fan-regulator on coupé-heater worked on just settings 1, 2 and 4.
Air-bag light came on after draining the battery.
Someone stuck a large screw in the hind muffler. Rotted the top side of it.
Scrubbed and re-sprayed the aluminium rims.
Stopped some rust and resprayed on passenger door, driver's side, bonnet, front of roof and under rear part of right side roof water drainage.
Sprayed the underside of car with linen-seed-oil for rust-protection.
    Re-attached falling carpet roof.
    Fixed electrical harness radio.
    Oiled the door-locks front.
Changed the broken extension in front right side door-lock.
    Changed leaking oil-pressure switch.

    Upcoming fixes:
    Fix glowplug-system.
    Change leaking turbo-gasket.
    Change leaking rocker box gasket.

A year ago is was a total n00b at cars. I'm getting better.
Working...
