New R32 Owner

Hi Guys - Just registered for this forum after buying a 2008 Golf R32 today. Been searching for nearly six months to find a vehicle in the right condition, with the right KM's and with the RNS-510 system.

Drove her home tonight and very happy!

Only problem is I have to go to Melbourne tomorrow on business so won't get to really have a play until the weekend.

I found this forum by doing some Google searches for R32 'known issues' before I made the purchase. Decided to register tonight so I can look at upgrading the firmware and maps for the RNS-510.

In regards to upgrading the firmware and maps for the RNS-510 - speak to either FJ Steve (Steve) or Ryan (Ryan_R) as I'm sure they would be more than happy to help as they have both provided me with excellent information in the past. I've got the V5.1 Maps and the latest firmware 3810 FW on disc which I'm happy to lend to you if need be. Can someone here confirm if I've got the latest or is there a version 6 out now?

Thanks Robbie. Yes found the info on the RNS 510 upgrades, but have to wait until I get home to check which firmware and map verrsions I have on board. A few more specs on my vehicle;

2008 Golf Mk V R32 DSG
Signature Blue
5 Door
RNS 510 with Bluetooth
Reverse Sensors
44,000 Km

BUT....no sunroof. I thought this was standard on the R32 but for some reason my car doesn't have one.

Alas...the sunroof was an optional extra ($2.5k). Sorry to make you jealous...but it is worth it

Yeah wanted the sunroof, but couldn't pass up this car in the right condition with the right K's for the right price. Have been searching for 6 months and didn't want to wait any longer.

We have regular meets each week with the usuals so I'll let you know when the next one is. Did you get extended warranty? Its such a massive bonus if you got that as well for piece of mind.
