Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      Sorry bit light on the details...... Diesel TDI Auto 6 speed. All wheel drive. Yes it's probably overdue as we bought it serviced at 110k.... buyer beware and all that

        As its 6 speed auto VW no longer have a service date for the gearbox fluid on a standard auto, Its been deleted from the service schedule.

        What did you get quoted in that 2K?

        120K = OIL AND FILTER
        POLLEN FILTER
        FUEL FILTER
        HELDEX OIL (AS YOURS IS PRE 09)

        BRAKE FLUID EVERY 2 YEARS - CHECK YOUR HISTORY TO WHEN LAST CHANGED
        CAMBELT AND TENSIONER KIT - 105K OR 7 YEARS.

        when you get the quotes ask what's actually going to be done for that money? .....VDUB.....

          Worth getting the auto transmission serviced as well, to ensure longevity.

            Thanks for the replies guys.

            2k quote was for Cam/Timing Belt & Front and Rear brakes. Regular service was done for 120k but the mechanic noted in the log books that the 105 service was not done or should I say not done to spec.
