Warranty problems with Golf

I have a Golf purchased less than 12 months ago. A fan broke and VW say they won't pay as it broke and is not covered by the warranty. Has any body had similar problems and if so were they able to get a positive response from VW? How?

What fan are you talking about? Interior or engine fan? Only reason they should not replace the engine fan is it been damaged by a outside source, ie a stick has come up from the road and smashed it.. other than that it should be replaced... What is wrong with it??...VDUB...
