Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC Looking for my first water-cooled, mk1 golf

    Hey guys
    New member from Melbourne
Just got into vw's from mini trucks and it's become an obsession
I own and daily drive a air-cooled 72 vw type3 square back with a rod rod sort of theme, steel mesh sun visor, venetians, roof rack with wood slats and patina all over. Plus a hidden sound system.
I love it but Iv got to have a water-cooled mk1 golf to complete the family
I'm a welder and fabricator and love my old cars and love working on them I also have a 72 chevy luv truck and torana project
Plan is to take the square back off the road to do some work and I want a vw to replace it as my daily driver so I want to snap up a mk1 golf and work on it wile using it as my daily, plan would be coil overs for a beginning.
If anyone could help me out let me know
    Any advice would be appreciated
Working...
