  • 9N 1.4 gearbox oil change (how to)

    hi,
I have a 2004 1.4 9N and after 240,000 kms, I think it might be time for a gearbox oil change.

Can someone tell me what tools I need and the location of filler hole and drain plug.

Do I need new filler plugs, or can I use the old ones?

What oil would is needed and what type do you recommend?
Its a little notchy between 1st and second, and Im hoping the oil change will fix it??

    thanks alot!

Its a manual gearbox, not a transmission.

manual just has a filler and drain. they should be 17mm hex key to remove. you do not replace them. drain from the bottom and then you should see the same looking hex key bolt on the front or side of the box. this is where you fill it with new oil. fill it until it starts running back out. make sure its on level ground. you will need a piece of pipe to get in there to put the new oil in... check first you can see the drain and fill bung and then get a tool before you do anything else
