  • QLD Tyres 2008 Octavia VRS

    Hi,

I am a new member from Brisbane.

I own a 2008 Octavia VRS Diesel. I have currently had to have the throttle body replaced and now I need new tyres...

I have spoken to a few tyre places and am thinking about 2 different tyre types at the moment

    1. Kumho Ecsta SPT - I have these on the front atm and am reasonably happy with them for the price.

    2. Michelin Pilot Super Sport - I would buy these from tirerack.com . Not something I would usually buy, but I have read good things about them.

    Any thoughts, let me know

I am running Kumho KU31's and for their price point there isn't much better.

      Welcome aboard.

If, all things considered, you are satisfied with the Kumhos, then I see no reason why you shouldn't continue to use them.

The Michelins will of course, cost more, but most people say they're worth the money (depending on their needs).

Ultimately, it comes down to how much you want to spend and what sort of characteristics you demand from a set of tyres.

I am leaning towards the Kumho's. I would really like the Michelins, but maybe I need to let that dream go until I have a vehicle that can exploit the performance of the tyre...

I am struggling to find somebody who will give me a price for KU31's. I rang the local Bob Jane and was told the tyres would be more then some Pirelli's at $269 they were trying to offload.

I can buy the tyres (4) for from St George Tyres @ $600 + freight, but would prefer to buy locally.

        The search continues tomorrow...

          Send enquiries to:

          Stylish Wheels
          Option 1 Garage

They appear to have good prices on tyres in QLD.

See if option 1 garage can help, they are pretty reasonably priced.
They didn't stock my unique size so i went with st george tyres, couldn't be happier.

I've been told that Federal 595's are also a decent VFM choice, never tried them myself though.
