  • SA Potential new up! owner signing in.

    Howdy,

I'm in the process of learning the ways of the religion of the Watercooled VW. My entry into this esteemed group happens to be the entry level model sold by VW here in Oz: the up! Given that I do more than 30,000km per year and live in a small country town where the nearest VW dealer is 160km away, a few people I know think I'm a little bit mental. However, I want to prove a point to them and to myself ... it IS possible to live comfortably with a very small car in a very big country.

That said, I'm only taking the up! on a 12 month novated lease because I'm hoping by this time next year, the up! GT will be available.

I've seen VWWatercooled mentioned on loads of car and other forums ... I figured if I could find a sympathetic audience anywhere, it'd be here.

    Welcome to VWW.

We looked at the up! at the end of last year, was quite impressed with it, hope your ownership experience is a good one!

      Welcome Tone

The up! will be fine in the Riverland, no doubt about it

Out of interest which is your nearest VW Dealer?

Thanks, Phaeton. I don't think I'll have any issues, but I know a couple of people that are worried that a red kangaroo will jump on my up! and crush me. It's nice that these people care, though.

My local VW dealer is Hutchinsons in Mildura, although Duttons at Murray Bridge isn't that much further away (160km vs 170km). I'm not sure how long the first 2 or 3 services for the up! will take, but I guess I'll find out eventually.
