Howdy folks, hope everyone had a great easter! I have been meaning to join a VW forum for some time, I did think I joined before but who knows, memory not so good haha.
Ive got a 2005 GTI. Love it, being disabled it is a very easy car to drive! Other than it was a real mission to find a spinny knob that would fit around the steering wheel! I also try do most maintenance myself to all my cars, though golf gets a bit technical for me and bit difficult to work on these days physically! Just saves money doing it youself! On a low income that makes a difference these days! I have added a piccie of my car chilling at Moana yesterday, being in the hills I dont get down to the coast too much so made most of it and took myself out to dinner and sat on the beach enjoying my dinner (Hungry jacks, don't get that a lot up here in Barker way either!) I am not sure if any of you are also on AULRO (other vehicle is a discovery, and other is a HQ panelvan) But im epic_dragon if you are also members there. Keen for any local meet ups/gatherings. And also needing to know a good supplier of parts. In need of a new Euro switch. They are on ebay, but bit different to mine with their chrome detail and 'auto' instead of the little symbol for auto. But have a weird really rough idle, sounds like a diesel! has since i got it so assumed it was normal haha but after some digging do no believe it is. PCV valve is my suspicion! Will have to video it. Fine under load. I will be seaching through the forum for any advice on any similar things But if someone can point me in a great place to get parts from I will greatly appreciate it. If anybody has any paint related/body work questions feel free to rack my brain, i am a qualified spraypainter, just retired due to permanent injury! Looking forward to making some new friends here

Just read the instructions at the top! should share a bit more info about myself I guess! Am a 27 year old female, won't say lady as I get covered in oil way too much to be a lady haha. Bit of a car nut/bike/gaming/planes/art/animals/boating nut also. Bit slower these days since I hurt myself and things snow balled a bit but give anything a go! Was getting into Para-equestrian but horse hurt himself and other one not of riding age yet! And helpers to saddle up are hard to find! Have way too many animals, but they keep me sane and company on long days! Don't really know what else to say. Found VWWatercooled thanks to friends at AULRO who pointed me this way Ive owned my Golf for gosh would be at least 18months or so now, longer even? Flew up to QLD for it as only one that was white, plus leather, sat nav (though i want to put new system from newer one in there as older sat nav sucks!), sunroof, DSG as i can only drive auto these days and by gosh what an incredible auto! ALways been a manual driver until forced otherwise and this keeps me happy! The gutter rash in the wheels was not me, everyone always comments haha, but I bought it with that. Always planned to have nice new wheels by now, but as most would know, finances get in the way! When I sell my boat ill have some spare cash again to go towards new wheels and tyres when the time comes! And they yay no gutter rash and no more people assuming I cant drive or park haha.
