Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW New owner R36

    Hi All,

Have been looking around the forums for a while and thought I should register. Purchased my 2009 R36 about 5 months ago. havent done anything really exciting with it besides window tint, euro plates and 60k service.

Previously have owned subarus (WRX) but wanted something more comfortable and still with a bit of go. The picture I have posted is the day we picked her up (I work at the local VW Dealership thats why there is a few in the background) and the missus jumped straight in and loved it.

Looking forward to getting a bit of information out of the forum as well as giving what ever information I can.

The local car club is holding 1/8 mile drag racing next month and I will be giving the R36 a run and of course post results!

    Cheers
    Jonesy

Yeah I was very impressed by the power delivery. And the consumption on trips and round town is a lot less than the Rex.

Welcome Jonesy, its great to see another R36 on here!!

The silver wagon looks great - I have a Grey R36 wagon myself. Any further plans for yours?

Visually I have thought of powercoating the standard wheels but I am still undecided.
Once I have a run over the 1/8 if I'm happy with the time I probably won't try and increase performance, but if I do it will be tune, EVOMS intake and exhaust.
