OPS install Melbourne for RCD-510?

Hi,

New here, although been reading for a while.

Just got black gti, 18' detroits... Really enjoying the car. Anyone know where I can get OPS installed in Melbourne, and anyone have experience buying these from UK? About $450 for front and rear OEM

Hi and welcome

OPS is on the far end of the difficulty spectrum for installation - a few people here have tried and failed (even with expert assistance).

Installing a rear view camera would be easier (there are member-written DIY guides available) but the camera costs a little bit more and you still require [someone with] the right tools.

Also to add to Ryan's comments before you go too far I'd be checking the compatibility of your RCD510 to accept RVC/OPS. There are some RCD510's that have the 26 pin connector which is used for RVC input and some without it. Not sure what is required to get OPS working, however make sure you have the right base hardware to support the features you're wanting otherwise you'll have to upgrade your head unit also....

The OPS doesn't need the 26pin connector at the back of RCD510. It works with RCD310 stock radio like we have in 2010 Tiguan. So, he should be fine as long as his canbus supports the feature.

The question is, what year is GTI?
