    Hi all

I've joined to research the Passat R36, as I'm looking to buy one soon. The site looks like a useful information resource.

    cheers

Update - just given a verbal agreement to purchase a 09 (supposedly MY10) R36 in gunmetal.

No GPS but many other extras included, and it has the updated touch screen radio unit.

Looking forward to concluding the deal this week.

Nice choice. Wagon or sedan? Throw up some pictures once the deals done.

It will be a wagon - kid on the way and all that stuff.

Will be keen to muddle my way through the new-fangled audio and electronics to hook up and iPod/iPhone to the car as one of the first updates (I'm looking at the model without a factory installed MDI unit).

Oh - after I add in the rear sun shades for the baby

          Welcome!!

Nice choice in car btw - I too have a 2009 Grey R36 Wagon ...you won't be disappointed - a great all round car.

So just to clarify, your car does not have MDI? I am pretty sure this can be fitted at any time. I find the IPod interface really easy to use and prefer it over Bluetooth streaming my music.

Great to see more R36’s on here.

I don't think the car has MDI, no. I'm pretty keen to have it fitted - people often say its pretty good.

I wasn't looking specifically for this when I was giving it the once (or twice) over, but from I can tell it doesn't have any signs of having MDI fitted. Aug 2009 build.

I'm probably purchasing it this week or asap thereafter so obviously when I get it ill know more

Just took delivery of the R36 today ... Very pleased!

Decent handling for a larger car and amazing ability to shift from docile to aggressive.

Loving the dsg gearbox - drove it in manual mode for the whole evening drive and it was surprisingly natural and intuitive - only one shift up when I meant to shift down.

You gotta get yourself some paddle extensions. I've got the maniac ones, makes changing gears are real pleasure

Congratulations on a sweet purchase mate. In regards to paddle extensions I highly recommend you take a look at the S2T Paddles from the link - http://www.s2tpp.com/VW-Paddle-Details.html
Be nice to see some photos of the car when you got a chance

Here are some photos of the S2T Paddles in black on a VW R36 Passat.

Yeah - perhaps not the smartest move but I've been on here looking at ways to blow all sorts of money on the car before I took delivery and the paddles came up early on.

Something like this is definitely on the list for some point in time.

I've got to get the baby related stuff sorted first (rear shades, baby seat) then the MDI connection and go from there.

Happy for the suggestions to keep coming in though!

                    Update: First photos below...
