A big G'day to all of you euro-dubbers and euro-lovers!

I've joined up to see the euro modding scene in Australia and gauge some information and opinions about the a Bora 4-motion. I've been searching for a small-medium sized car that is nimble and plants a good 100kw/tonne through a good drivetrain. So far it seems the 4-motion fits the requirements perfectly!!

I've being modifying a TJ magna (*flame suit on*) for a few years now and enjoyed doing it. Great car to learn on and was 'something different'.
But now I've started focusing on handling, and I've given up on trying to achieve the combination of power and handling that I seek. It's quick enough for a P plater in a straight line (0-100 in 7.1 seconds isn't too shabby!) but pretty average through corners even with wider wheels & good tyres, lowered springs, swaybars and adjustable stiff shocks.

So i'm here to lurk around seeing people's experiences with these cars, perve at some hopefully nicely modded ones and ask some annoying questions along the way

My biggest concern is regarding reliability and part pricing & availability. I just don't want to have to spend 1000's for parts that break all the time. If anyone has any insight and experiences please let me know! General reviews also appreciated!
(By the way - Labour and time is not a problem as I'm confident and experienced enough to do almost any mechanical work apart from timing belt changes & stripping down engines. )

My first car was a TJ magna as well haha, sunk about 5k into mine before selling, once I realised regardless it's still just a magna
I'm now a mk4 golf gti owner, If you are competent in doing major servicing components yourself they arn't too pricey, just most euro servicers will take you for all your worth, and when you think you are out of money, they shake you by your ankles until your coins fall out

Parts can be more expensive if you don't know where to look.

and no, parts wont 'keep breaking' unless you're doing something wrong. It's normal for there to be wear and tear major items, and smaller minor common issues. But ther'es no reason it should take your wallet for a ride (especially if you're into a bit of DIY)
