A fella on here called Stan did this swap last year. Started as a 1.6 though.

If you google AGU wiring diagram, assuming it's an AGU engine you are fitting. You should find some wiring diagrams that will help you out. It's mostly plug and play.

If you are using a different engine code, google that instead.

hi gavin thanks for your reply, yes am using the agu motor and wiring, have both looms from engine to ecu and have ecu and clocks. problem am having is not where the engine looms plug into the engine, but how to merge agu looms to the 2.0 8 valve engine bay loom, there is a big connector missing under the plastic trunking on the right hand side where the bay loom and engine loom connect, will post a pick to show what i mean,
      thanks.

However, If you have pulled that motor out yourself, then all the wiring you need should be there.

Maybe you don't need to connect to that plug and it can be removed???????

yeah me being stupid didnt think i would need that bit and assumed it would be on the other car, going to buy the wiring i need off ebay, have a seller saying he has it , just hope it is removable complete without going into the dash and having to tear the whole car apart, any ideas what this plus is for? going to have to connect it somewhere as the new agu motor loom has the plug but the car dont.

I suspect it's the wiring for the headlights. seeing as the front is gone and I can't see the loom rolled back out of the way.

this is the 2.0 8 valve car i am putting the 1.8t motor into, the top red circle is the origanal loom from the car where the plug is missing, and the bottom circle is the 1.8t loom from engine to ecu, thi is where the 2 looms should connect, am i going to have to change the main loom to be able to solve this, the main loom supplys the wiper motor, alarm horn, lights, indicators, and most other things, anyone have a way round this please?

That plug would go to another green one normally. Makes it easy to assemble and check it's correct. I guess the otherside is still in the donor? Alternatively, look at the colours of the wires in the white and green plugs. If they are the same then remove the key way o allow the plugs to mate up. DON'T do this if the wires are different, you need to work out why.

Seriously, you need a set of wiring diagrams, for both cars, to make life easier. I'd have a look for Stan's thread he had some issues like this and hunted down diagrams IIRC. I only have AGU engine ones, no 2 litre. I just googled the engine code and diagram to find them.

The plug in the big circle has a yellow and black wire which could be a dip beam but I can't see the main beam, so I don't know for sure.
